The Role of the 300B
The 300B remains one of the most linear and musically complete output devices ever produced.
In the GEN-300B, it is operated in pure Class A single-ended mode, without complex correction schemes or circuit layering.
Rather than pursuing maximum output, the design focuses on consistency across the listening range.
Pure Single-Ended Architecture
The GEN-300B employs a fully discrete, all-tube signal path:
Driver stage: 2 × 6N8P
Output stage: 2 × 300B
Rectification: 1 × 5AR4 tube rectifier
Signal and power paths use high-quality capacitors, custom-wound transformers, Cardas internal wiring throughout, and a transformer-coupled, tube-driven headphone output derived directly from the main circuit rather than a separate stage.
Operating strictly in pure Class-A, the amplifier delivers 10 watts per channel into 8Ω, optimized for high-efficiency loudspeakers and listeners who prioritize tonal realism over brute force.
Signal and power paths use carefully selected components throughout, including Amtrans film capacitors — the same series employed in ATH’s Narukami amplifier — along with custom-wound Japanese transformers and Cardas internal wiring.
Inputs and Use
The GEN-300B can be used in two configurations:
Direct connection to a line-level source
As a dedicated power amplifier when paired with an external preamplifier via a direct input path
An optional Bluetooth version is available for systems requiring wireless playback, implemented without interfering the core analog signal path.
